Atlantis Community Foundation Board Members
Lloyd Lewis has served as President and CEO for arc Thrift Stores since December 2005, a Colorado non-profit organization whose primary lines of business include the popular arc Thrift Stores as well as the nationwide Vehicles for Charity program. In this capacity, Lewis is responsible for generating funding to support 15 Arc Colorado Chapters that provide advocacy for persons with developmental disabilities, including Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, autism, and other forms of intellectual disabilities. Lewis’ role includes oversight and management of arc Thrift Stores 31 retail stores, corporate and support operations, 100,000 sqft of warehouse space, a fleet of 52 trucks, 15 donation centers, and a staff of over 1,600 employees.
Arc Thrift Stores is one of the largest employers of people with developmental disabilities in the State of Colorado and one of the state’s largest social enterprises. Over 350 employees with intellectual and developmental disabilities are employed at arc Thrift Stores and have been named arc Ambassadors for the critical role they play in the arc family. Besides employment, Lewis spearheads a program called arc Academy to provide post-secondary classes in things like hygiene, safety and managing a budget. Ambassadors also participate in social events and attend movies regularly. Recently, a Civitans club was added to arc Academy and participants are able to be part of community outreach activities that ensure arc Ambassadors understand the value of giving back to their communities in their own unique ways.
Lewis currently serves on several community boards, the Board Co-Chair of Colorado Cross Disability Coalition and Chair of the Atlantis Community Foundation. He recently began work with a new nonprofit organization called Colorado Disability Partnership. Most recently, Lewis is a gubernatorial appointee on the Colorado Disability Funding Committee. Lewis’ dedication to the disability community is undeniable; his heart for the cause is unprecedented.
Lewis holds a master’s degree from the University of Chicago Graduate Business School, and has prior corporate experience with companies including IBM and Smith Barney. He is also the proud father of son who has Down syndrome which makes the mission of arc Thrift Stores all the more important and relevant in his life.
Bruce Stahlman has served since 2006 as Chief Financial Officer of ARC Thrift Stores, a Colorado not-for-profit corporation with 1,600 employees and $100 million of annual revenue. He has almost 40 years of experience in domestic and international corporate finance with firms in the energy and telecommunications industries. Mr. Stahlman received a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Indiana University, a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Management from Albion College in Michigan and is a registered Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Stahlman and his wife Kelly have been married 36 years and had three children including Jay who with his wife and two sons resides in the Denver area and twins Mark and Eric with cerebral palsy. He was appointed to Littleton City Council to fill a vacancy as the District II representative in 2007 and was elected as an At Large representative in November, 2009 and 2013. He served as Mayor Pro Tem for two years and chose not to run for re-election in 2015.
Atlantis Community Foundation Staff
Currently serves as the Executive Director of the Atlantis Community Foundation. His primary responsibilities in this role include ownership of the Foundation’s existing affordable housing properties and developing new communities in Denver. These communities are designed and managed to offer integrated, affordable housing to persons with disabilities.
Before joining the Atlantis Community Foundation, Trini worked in public finance for nearly 25
years.
He has served as
